What Is Energy Recharge and Why It Decides Your Teams
Every Burst in Genshin Impact costs a fixed amount of Energy — 40 to 90 depending on the character — and Energy Recharge (ER) is the multiplier that lets you pay it. Without enough ER, your rotation falls apart: the Burst is not ready, the damage window closes, and your clear time doubles.
The math is deterministic:
ER needed = (Burst Cost ÷ Energy Generated per Rotation) − 1
Same-element particles are worth 3x more than different-element ones, catching on-field is worth 67% more than catching off-field, and battery supports like Bennett or Raiden Shogun can cut a character ER requirement by a third.

What is Energy Recharge (ER)?
ER is a stat that multiplies the energy your character gains from particles and orbs. At 100% ER, a same-element particle caught on-field gives 3 Energy; at 200%, it gives 6. Your Burst cost divided by your rotation energy generation, minus one, is the ER you need.
Why do different guides give different ER numbers for the same character?
Because ER depends on the team, not the character. A battery like Bennett, a refund like Raiden, or a Favonius weapon each removes roughly 20-40% ER. Numbers are only valid for the team they were calculated for.
